I have written winning direct response copy for the
better
part of two decades. My clients include some the biggest names
in
alternative health, specialty food, self improvement and
personal
finance.
I was honored as "Copywriter of the Year"
by the American Writer's and Artist's Institute (AWAI), joining
the
ranks of such industry leaders as Clayton Makepeace and Robert
Bly.
Prior to my freelancing career, I spent nearly eight years
at
Prentice Hall Direct. As Senior Copywriter and later as Copy
Supervisor for the company's line of health books, I streamlined
costs, devised strategy, and dramatically improved the quality
of the
overall promotion effort. Within three years, Prentice Hall's
health
and self-improvement product line grew from $2.5 million in
sales to
over $13 million annually, surpassing the company’s legendary
education books to become the most successful product line in
the
entire division.
I wrote nearly all of Prentice Hall’s profitable control packages
that ran for years. My direct mail efforts for Heinerman’s
Encyclopedia of Fruits, Vegetables, and Herbs was named one of
“Axel’s Grand Controls” by Axel Anderson of Inside Direct Mail
magazine. A couple of my Prentice Hall packages still show
up in
the mail today.
I gained a wide base of experience in copywriting and
marketing for several direct marketing agencies, magazines, and
book publishers in New York and Chicago. My diverse portfolio
includes online direct response, sales brochures, newsletters,
catalogs, space ads, and web content.
I live with my family (including 2 dogs) at the Jersey
Shore.
